This morning I was backing out my car from the driveway, and as I got onto the street ready to shift into drive, I heard this very fast knocking noise in the rear. It must have been 3-4 seconds straight. It sounded like someone was in the trunk! Any idea on what it could be??

Front wheel drive car...so no power system problems. Brakes might be having problems, but symptoms sounds wrong.
My best bet, Pop the trunk lid and look for a 2 liter of pop rolling around.

I would check the brakes. I had a caliper bolt that wasn't tightened correctly and it fell out causing the caliper to hit my rear wheel.

Check your struts. When their bad it sounds like something is in your trunk, a knocking sound. They may be leaking .
