I have a 99 SE with the stock piping. I want to put something a little nicer on, improve the flow, etc. All I see are kits that say GT only. Are the pipes hooked up the same way, and the cut-outs in the rear bumper the only thing holding me back?
Thanks
Nick

Nick The GT has slightly larger diameter pipe ( 1/8 in ) Nothing that a muffler shop couldn't solve easy . But like you say there are two cut outs for the exhaust tips as well . You could just get a shop to custom bend a system from the Cat back anyway . ;)

FYI: It'll bolt up just the same. 100% guarantee.

he is correct, it will fit right on, the cutouts in the bumper don't matter the GT bumper is lower than the SE so the pipes will just be sitting under the bumper instead of in cutouts

wouldn't it be better just to spend the extra $$ and put something like the Borla cat-back system on?
its prolly a bit more expensive than just a GT muffler swap, but i think you'd get more power out of it...

I think he means that hes going aftermarket, only all the kits he sees for sale say GT only, not that he's getting the stock GT setup.

oh, ok... makes more sense... i've run into that same problem... but i do know that the Borla system will work on both SE and GT (3.4L only tho).... there are others out there too, but this is just the first one that i know of off hand....
