I used to be all into building systems but then I went into a period where it wasnt all that important to me. When I got my ga I decided I wanted to throw a little something in there so I bought the most budget system I could afford.
Sony Xplod HU ($175)
Sony Xplod 6.5 two ways ($50)
Fast and Furious (lightning audio) 10" sub and amp ($100)
(walmart special)
This got me by for a while. I was surprised at how a $100 worth of crappy stuff sounded.
Well... The other day I came into some money and cought the fever again. I Plan on keeping my Sony HU because It plays good and plays MP3's but I went out and bought a few toys.
5 1/4" Infinity reference components and a Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1D 10" DVC Sub.
I have the 5 1/4's installed and they sound awesome. The 10 im gonna put in the box I have. Im thinking about running the fronts off the amp that came with the fast and furious kit (since it could push a 10 pretty good) But i dont know what kind of amp i should get for the new 10.
It's a dual voice coil and I dont know too much about those. Should i get a 2 channel amp and run them one channel to each side or get a mono amp and run it in series. I dont know too much about 4 ohm and 2 ohm and really dont wanna learn ohms law or anything just want a suggestion. I wanna find an amp around $200 that will make my new sub sound pretty good.
(just so you know, trunk space is limited due to a big stroller and family stuff. Thats why I dont have 2 12" and custom installation.)
