View Full Version : 3.3L (3300) is a destroked 3.8L (3800)

From what I have been told the 3.3L (3300) is the destroked 3.8L (3800). :) If you check out this page you will see a version of our engine came out in 1989.

You will also see lots of turbos and that the heads are the same but ours has one less bolt. Some Grand Prix have 3800 in them so we should be looking at them for engine mods and bolt ons.

So everyone bore and stroke to a 3.8 and grab a turbo! I personally won't put a turbo on it.

yup ive know this for quite some time the bor is also a bit different and its too much to be bored but most stuff has a decent chance of working


as for a turbo if im gonna be goin with FI i will always use a turbo


as for the link you posted that is a GN which is a RWD and prolly none of the parts for that car will work

I have an '89 Olds Cutlass Ciera that has the exact same 3300 as my Grand Am. (The olds has alot more miles on it though....;) )
