Is $150 labor +parts a reasonable cost to install subs and an amp. I haven't done it before, think I should give it a shot?

ya thats good since the parts are about 40$... and maybe 2 hours install time... so that sounds right..

Best Buy installed my head unit for free since I bought it that day, they were advertising free installation if you buy audio stuff the same day.But for 100-150,for sub, amp, head unit, thats not bad.

140 dollars for an install is insane. WAY to much. If I were you, I would learn off the internet how to install ityourself and save some mulah for some mods for the future.

I've got a friend who got his installed by another friend. We stopped by Ovation to have them screw in a wire to his amp he couldn't reach. The guy instantly noticed that they didn't install it, I'm not sure if he thought it was a bad job or not. I saw a thick red wire that was under the hood, along with a fuse. This wire ran through the cabin(under the carpet) and to the trunk(hehehe I'm observant). I just thought it was odd to have a wire hanging from the inside of the hood. Wouldn't it overheat? Lol so should I trust this kid who installed the wires?

As long as the wire is the right gage everything should be alright
