hydrolock?

I am interested in buying a new car. i found a good deal on a good car. but the guy said he replaced the engine cause his old one hydrolocked. what that mean? should i not buy the car for this reason? can anyone help? thanks

If the engine's been changed it shouldn't matter, unless the engine he put in was used then you have no idea what it's history is.
