I want a Ram Air hood for my 2000 Grand Am GT. I love how the SC/T hoods look, and I think it adds a lot of depth and uniqueness to the Grand Am line.
The thing is: I've never seen them for sale ANYWHERE. Not eBay, not anything. all I see is aftermarket ones.
With that being said, if the SC/T Ram Air hood's are almost impossible to come by, what's the best looknig aftermarket alternative, and where from?

Yeah, I took a look at them. I like the first one they display, but I dunno, it reminds me a Trans Am's for some reason...I guess I've never seen an SC/T hood up close before, how similar are they?

Well PFYC carries SCT style(not OEM GM one) and SD hood. I considered SD hood, but SCT has bigger front vents and water and dirt go though the heat extractors of SD hood. My car is at the shop for OEM GM SCT hood. I can't wait.

What's the major differences between PFYC's SCT hood and the actual OEM GM one?
And where did you get your OEM hood from?
The SD hood looks nice, but it's a bit too "busy" for me.

I think the OEM one has a line that bulges out on the center. The center part of PFYC one looks flat to me.
I got mine through my bodyshop. You can get one from www.gmpartsdirect.com
Part number is 12498263.

i got lucky with mine... I ran into a guy with an SE and a SCT hood. So I asked him where he got it and he said his father had a couple...(he worked at a body shop).. I guess some girl crashed her car and had minor damage to the hood so they ordered a new sct hood...then a week later she crashed again, with minor damage to the hood so they bought another SCT hood... so finally the guy ended up with about 3 SCT hoods from the 1 girl!!! And when I got ahold of him the guy only had one left and He let me TAKE it from him for $400 painted!!! So I got a steal.. And I love the look of it on my car!!!

The hood from RKsport looks a lot more like the SC/T style hood from pfyc.

Well they do sell them at the dealships....thing is they are farkin expensive. When I bought mine my mom had just bought a 2004 GT from them and we persuaded them to give us a deal on a hood for my car. I still paid $960 for the hood and that was with a couple hundred knocked off...unpainted of course. It is however the exact SC/T hood you are loooking for.

So real SCT hood unpainted is more than $1000 from a dealer?

Like I said, go to RKsport.com it is only $595 and really looks like the stock SC/T hood.

$960, unpainted, a deal?!?!?!? My dealership here was going to give me the SC/T hood AND spoiler for $1100 Painted, which is slightly less than what GM wants for the set retail.

Hey its the cheapest I could get from them therefor I got a deal to what others would have to pay to get it from the same place.
