I clobbered my passenger mirror on my '03 Buick Century backing out of my garage on a cabinent mounted to the side wall. The mirror housing is designed to pivot to lessen injury to pedestrians and also damage from striking objects, and in this case pivoted forward.
The mirror housing is intact, however part of the power adjustment mechanism is damaged. I believe one of the articulation points is broken along with 1 or more clips that are molded into face of the electric motor and the rear of the housing the actual mirror glass is attached to.
Right now I've got some double sided adhesive tape holding the top portion (where the broken mount/clips) of the mirror temporarily in place.
I'm pretty sure from what I can tell, I'll need to order an entire new housing and won't be able to replace the parts piecemeal.
I'm trying to decide on an OEM GM part or an aftermarket knock-off.
This is the aftermarket which is $60.45+ S&H. I have no idea what the S&H runs because the ordering system won't tell you until you go all the way through with the order.

Whereas I can get an new original equipment mirror through www.gmpartsdirect.com for $103 including the S&H.
Opinions on my options.
Have any of you had any good/back luck using aftermarket "knock-off" replacement parts such as this mirror that I'm considering.
