Alright, im hoping someone has even a little bit of a clue as to what is causing my problem. Since it has become completely crap outside and there now is over 15 inches of snow where I live, ive been having some problems with my underbodies. Its funny because they still work. I say its funny because lately, ive been having all kinds of problems where they turn off for no reason. Im guessing my transformer is going and overheating because they will either just not turn on at all for the first 5 minutes, or they will turn off after 45 minutes or so of driving. Anyway, Since it has gotten so cold lately, I havent had this problem at all. However, ive been having a new problem. Ill be driving, then turn on my underbodies, and then for some reason, after a couple of minutes, my ABS light and trac control light come on. And when they are on, they do not function, kinda a bad thing with the bad road condions. I ONLY have this problem when I turn my underbodies on. It always happens too. After a minute of driving with them on, the abs and trac will not work. I just honestly dont get it adn its got me a little concernced. I do know they are grounded to that metal tubular bar, under the plastic cover of your dash under the steering wheel. ( same spot you connect your code reader to.) I just have no idea why its affection my abs and trac control, any ideas? Or any ideas why during the summer/fall, my lights wouldnt turn on, or just turn off for no reason?

the only thing I can think of is maybe since your grounded on that bar it's trying to ground through the plugin for the code reader, and thats some how messing something else up, or maybe your tranny is messing up and forwarding positive voltage through the negative line on it, so it's shorting your ABS and Trac controls right there, just speculation, but I'd try a different grounding point

I also heard that you should not mount the transformer near your abs because that can cause some trouble....

Where's the abs located? I have my transformer mouted by my coolant tank. Ill try looking for a new grounding point. Its funny becasue its always been there and Ive had them for over a year now and only now this is happening. I seriously dont understand what is different this summer/winter with them not working as well and then now, turning off some of my systems.

or perhaps its actual voltage issues. ABS requires a certain amount of voltage/current to work properly and will shutdown itself inevent there isnt enough voltage. Perhaps your alternator or battery is starting to go bad, cold weather has a nasty habit of messing with batteries. Perhaps check the terminals as well.

go LED, and nothing will stop them!
move your ground would be my best guess... but not sure...

i ran my ground under the carpet and grounded it to the bolt that hold the seat to the car. I have a green led plasmaglow one and my passenger side tube just decided to stop all together while the rest stayed lit up, so i took the two side ones out and have been tryin to get in touch with plasmaglow for like a month to get new ones because they are supposto have a lifetime warrenty...do you have a warrenty with ur underbodies?

Well for what I understand, the underbody warranty is lifetime for the tube if the inner tube breaks and the outer tube is intact, I have no idea for the transformer. As for Voltage levels, Highly unlikely. I have a my amp setup so that It has contant readings of my voltage levels going too my stereo. Ive had it from ranges of 11.2 V to 15.5V. During the winter, it is usually higher due to the cooler temperatures. Also, both my alt and battery wre replaced within the last 8 months. Pretty much, im going to be doing a lot of work on my car in the next couple of days : cover underbodies with extra protection ( I found some old plexi-glass shelves from my work and took them home and going to mount them over the lights to protect them from ice chucks ), install my new JET chip FINALLY!, take my power tools inside, wash the car from all the snow, and get my winters put on. Thank goodness I actually get days off this week, becasue winter is here and its not going to be nice;). And when I do all that, ill trya nd find a new ground for the lights and maybe that will help.
