Monsoon Deck Swap

Does anyone know if the MP3 Monsoon Deck from an 04' Sunfire will work in an 02' Grand Am with the Tape/CD Monsoon Deck? I know it will fit, but will it work? I think the MP3 Monsoon decks are the same in the 04' grand am as in the 04' sunfire. I just want to make sure.

As long as the plugs are the same it will work. You might have to get it reprogram to match your car.

So I got my original monsoon cd/tape deck unit swapped out for the mp3 version. I had to take it to the dealer and the guy plugged some computer into the car and made the radio unlock. He didn't charge me anything! But now my question is....if i were to unplug my car battery does that mean when I reconnect it the radio will have to be reset again?
