OK well I have a 00 GT and my factory system came with an amp for the 6x9's...Its not the monsoon system either.. But my whole audio system is aftermarket except for the factory 6x9's and the factory amp running those... I have 2 subs in the back.. But my question is... How much different is the factory amp that I have for the 6x9's and the monsoon factory amp that comes with other GA's? Cuz I saw a GA factory monsoon amp for sale so I thought I would ask to see how much of a difference it would make with my aftermarket system and factory 6x9's? Am I going to need different hook ups for the monsoon amp than I have now with the factory amp? Thanks

The only factory amp as far as I know is the monsoon amp... But, I could be wrong. Plus, there's no reason to buy another amp to just amp your 6x9's if you have subs, especially nice Type R's. If you wanted to amp both your front and your back, then that would be a good idea.

yeah I just thought maybe the monsoon amp would make the factory 6x9's sounds a little better.. I know its not a monsoon amp though.. In my GT I have the 6 speaker Delco cd player system. Yeah your prolly right.. Im just gonna leave it..

Monsoon came out in 2001. You just have premium sound package. The Monsoon powers all the speakers while the premium sound package powers only the back 6x9. It would be more work than it worth to hook up a monsoon amp. To get the best sound i would get new 6x9s and a small aftermaket amp to power them.

If you were to get the monsoon amp, it wouldnt even work. The wiring harness is different. Just unhook the 6x9's. You dont need the bass out of the 6x9's anyway... You have subs..

yeah I know.. I didnt want to get any bass form the 6x9's I jus thought that the monsoon amp might have made the 6x9's sounds a little better than the factory amp I have now.. But since the monsoon amp would fit anyways then I dont have to worry about it and this thread is done..!! LOL :D questions were answered. Thank you guys!!
