Okay here's the story.. my car has been shifting very funny and too soon and I really wasn't sure what the heck was going on. It would jump a little right before it would shift...kinda like it would if it were a manual. Then I got a service engine soon light and I ran the code and it was a #26 which when I looked it up it was called a Quad Driver Circiut. Does anyone know what the heck that is? Any help would be appreciated. I know it part of the computer but I just don't know if I need to replace the computer or if it is something I can fix. Also I have noticed a power loss which is not like my car to not have power. Thanks in advance.

I've seen this on a relatives Quad 4. The quad driver is a part of the ECM. I would make sure with a mechanic first.
I helped diagnose this quad driver error on this car... turns out we swapped the ignition coil and towers from my car and the engine ran smooth... but this was the engine. The tranny is another issue. Our tranny's were not exactly computer controlled untill 1995/6 and on.... so there aren't many sensors that would effect the tranny itself. How does the Engine perform? do you experience slow acceleration of the engine... even in neutral?

No the engine runs smooth as can be but the it acts like a clutch when the service light comes on. I found out that the computer controls the torque converter so I am going to replace the computer and see what a difference that will make. The engine never had a problem at all. The code 26 said something about the quad driver and when I checked the computer is was almost burning hot. My coils and control module are brand new so I know that can't be it. I think the computer is not sure when to tell the TCC to work right.

Or perhaps the TCC solenoid is bad. Usually that causes the car to stall when slowing down after a highway trip though...

It is plugged into the front of the tranny. Probably easier to see if you remove the air intake hose. You can unplug it and drive it for a few days to see if the symptoms continue...

Ill check that out. The car doesn't die it just shifts into 3rd gear kinda rough. At like 55 if you step down on it like half way down, the car shakes sometimes. I was thinking maybe it just needs new fluid and filter since I doubt it has ever been done since it only has 91k on it. Other than that I don't know. Ill check that out though.
