What is this?

When I had my amp and woofers installed in my car I had them connected to the monsoon HU. The people that installed them plugged a thick black cable into the hole I circled in the pic. What is that hole for? Also, I'm going to be swapping my tape/cd monsoon unit for the MP3 monsoon unit, so do i just remove that black wire and plug it into the new one? Would it just pull out or would I need to cut it and reconnect it?

That hole is made for your stereo antena. (sp?) That's where you plug it in to. I'm not sure how the newer Grand Am's are, but I had to get an attachment to connect mine, worth about $8. Someone else will know though. :)
