Fuel Pump question

i got a 2000 grand am SE. the pump is running but nothing is commin out of the line. im not sure what to do cause a new pump is about 300 dollars.

my 96 grand am has a new one in it. are those compatable??

Is gas passing through the filter? Gas is not coming out of what line?

i wasnt sure if they were. i didnt think they were

i took the filter of the line coming out of the tank, i out a new filter on today because the car would die when i hit the gas. and i figured that was why. then i couldnt get it to start again and i took the filter off to see if gas came out the line from the tank. nothing came out
