Example of ideal use...

Your driving at night and you need to pull over to the shoulder of the road for whatever given reason. You dim your headlights so you are not blinding on coming drivers but leave your parking lights on so that you and/or your vehicle is visable to other vehicles approching .

I personally HATE it when jerks pull up to the wrong side (left) of the road and leave their headlights on. It blinds you and you can not see anything. Sucks even more when there is someone in the road getting into that vehcile. Now if they had a brain they would dim their lights or shut the vehicle off and put on the parking lights.

Or when you are at Sonic at night and the SOB across from you leaves his car running AC or Heater and wont turn of his freaking headlights off. That ticks me off big time. I have even turned mine on and off and the moron dont even get the hint.

On my '02 GA, the lights don't turn off until seven seconds after the engine is turned off. Pulling the e-brake doesn't do it.

you have to turn the car off pull the key out pull the e-brake up then put the key back in and then turn it to the on position

Do the DRL and ALC mod :) Also if you turn the lights to park at night the head lights will turn off

They also help identify which direction a car is going from the side. From the rear, it's so that you can actually SEE the car in front of you :)

There's nothing I hate more than the morons who have DRLs but no automatic headlights and don't understand they have to turn on their lights at night so people will see them from behind.

What I hate ,every morning,between 5:30 and 5:45,theres this pickup with it's lights on warming up across a main road from my street.His driveway is slightly higher than my street,which is almost 1/2 a mile long blinding anyone heading toward main street.Seems like he positions the darn vehicle for this purpose.Sorry for venting my anger in this post!What I really was wondering if anyone knew if the side marker lights are lights or reflectors,oh, on a 97'Ga Se??? Thank's Mike anyone know if the Avitar samples on the board can have motion added to them??:D :D

I think the side markers are just reflectors, like on the 92-95 GAs.

Another easy way to turn your headlights on and off when you turn the car off...rather then reinserting the key multiple times, you can just park the car, turn it off, flip the headlights on and then back to off, and they'll turn off.

i've always hated the drl's on my ga, but no one has ever done the mod on my model year so i've had to deal with it. On the 02 maxima i just bought, it has the option for off, auto lights, then parking lights and reg lights... i wish the ga's came like that

On my 02 GA, I can turn off headlights and have only parking lights on by turning the switch to Parking light position even when the car is running. I know this can't be done for all model years. So if your older GA does not do this, the only way to have just parking lights on is to pull the parking brake and start the car again?

There are reflectors on the '92-'95 but the side marker lights are up on the outter corners of the headlamps. Same for the rear sidemarker lamps.

Uh, yeah, I know. My response was assuming he meant the markers on the side, along the side rub strip. Those being reflectors on 92 thru 98 models. They are in addition to the lit markers in the positions you indicated.

dude i so agree. i hate stupid a$$ people that do that. it is so ignorint and arrogent (sp). like people have no respect. parking lights are cool in my opinion. like a dusk or dawn driving with themo n and fog lights just rule it

also DRL suck big time. no point. also auto lights are stupid too. you meanto tell me people are so lazy now-a-days they cant turn on their own lights. i want to control my car to the fullest. not the computer control my car.

i love to roll with just the park lights and fog lights on durring the day. at night i have control over if the headlights are on or not... but they come on automaticly unless i turn the parks on..... also about the lights staying on 7 seconds after the car is off... this is simple. after you turn the car off twist the headlight switch to atleast the park pos. and then back... if it doesnt do it the first time as mine sometimes doesnt, repeat it... they should turn off. no need for the parking break stuff (atleast on the 04 gt's)

I like driving around with parking lights on at dusk. It was especially cool when I replaced the little 194 bulb with blue LED lights, until a cop pulled me over for it. It's all white now.

There is a guy on here,think its bobgagt, that is trying to make some kind of harness to disable the DRL's on the 96-98 GA's

parking lights are so mthat when one of your headlight bulbs burn out that other automobiles at night know your a car and not a motorcycle. Some fatalities have occured when a car's parking and headlights are out.
