HID lighting systems will be what they use but they cost like 500$ for the system.. but if you want close.. 8000k xenon gas bulb is basically what they are... im using a 6000k.. is has alot more blue tint to them.. were as stock are 4300k. 9000k bulbs are the highest you get ..and basically are white in color.. but extremly bright.. 6000k is fine 8000k may get you a ticket depending where you live.. Im in canada but i hear alot of provinces are trying to ban the really bright ones...
Also i just used the Eurodesign bulb that are ebay.. got mine for 9.99$ and work great.. but if you want best get PIAA but they are about 80$ for a pair... so all i did was replace my high low.. and fogs with eurodesigns.. for 30$ well worth it... recomend them to anyone

I believe with my car, you have to buy the lamp assembly rather than just the bulb. Is it still possible to get the bright ones?

might wanna post a pic of what your talking about because most any automotive bulb is a socket or a twist in,you shouldn't have to buy a whole assembly.

I think his headlight bulb is glued in or something like that, not like our twist in ones. I read it on a post somewhere. I'll see if I can find it...

How bright are the silverstars anyway? are they HID? 6000K?

The Silverstars are what I picked up. They are not light blue or retina-burning like the Audi's, but they are like a normal offwhite (just slightly) light that is much, much brighter than standard lights.
My headlights are a bit faded and eroded, so I am not getting the full experience.

I know this isnt the greatest of pics but also taken in the day.. but here is a pic of lights to compare the difference.. here i only have the one bulb changed... and have my fog lights on to show the difference in color.. as for brightness you cant really tell.. but the ones on my car are considerd the ones that are blue.. but technically. they arent .. they just have a slight tint of it
Eurodesign bulbs off ebay for 9.99$ is what i used...

if you need it i can always take a pic of my lights at night.. but all my lights are now eurodesigns... so maybe it would easier to tell.. maybe pic from inside the car and out.

I don't know why GM was doing it that way though. I had twist n lock bulbs on my '90 Regal GS that I used to have, and and it was 6 years older than this GP, so I don't know why they would have made the setup different.
