Sorry but this going to be along post
Well it's been a long expensive summer for my GA, I had a mechanic strip my engine bay to repaint it, every nut and bolt was either polished or painted, he put the car back together again and when I went to fire it up I filled the inside of the car with smoke, but the car ran but had no power and the fan wasn't working. Then it made a pop, I thought it broke the timing belt. He said their was nothing wrong with the car!!!
Took it to another guy, suppose to be a GM specialists, he found out the problem was the other guy didn't have the bolts tightened in the camshaft, it done a full 360 but didn't sheer off the dowel, but the crankshaft pulley did twist into the block, replaced all of that and got it running, he started doing some checks on the car and found out the computer wasn't getting a signal from the map sensor. Time to buy a computer, installed another computer, turned the key and fried that one, I was pissed because he should have found out why the first one fried before first.
Got the computer problem fixed, then we were running checks on the car again with the key turned ahead and the motor filled with gas, that much gas that it was running out of the vaccumm lines, he took out the plugs and told me to crank the motor, when I did gas came flying out and ignited with a spark from the coil, I almost cryed, got the fire out with most of the damage being to the underside of the bonnett and figured it was time to start from the beginning, all the wiring was totally screwed, the other guy had grounds on live and everything, ended up frying the injectors, 2 computers, map senor, the relay for the fan, and the gas took out the bearings in my brand new turbo
He had the car for 7 days and most days were 8 hours, but a couple were 13-15 hour days at 28 bucks an hour
Finally got it running and the car was smoking like crazy, another mechanic said it was the valve rubbers, got him to do that and it was still smoking. Then he said it was the rings, so I was going to get them done the next day.
Then on the way home the bonnet blew up and smashed the windshield and destroyed the bennet and the scoops which I only had remolded and repainted at the beginning of the summer!
I ended up parking the car back in the garage and calling it quits for the summer after spending 10 grand this summer on the car!
But I've calmed down after a couple of months and now I'm getting ready to start to get the car ready for this summer! It can't be no worst then last summer.
Does anybody know where to find diagrams for the wiring harness in the motor bay? I'm not about to have mechanics or anybody guessing this time around!
