Hey all,
I must say that I love the look of black wheels (on some cars)...
Now that I've got the ugly steelies and winter tires on for snow season, my SE2 stock rims are in the garage and I'm considering whether or not to either get them chrome dipped/polished, paint them black, or leave them as is.
What do you think of the proposed image in the attachment? (Or should I just leave it stock)...To me it looks "different" but I'm not sure one way or another whether it's badass or fugly, please vote to help skew me one way or another! :)

Either get black aftermarket rims, or have your stock ones powdercoated. That would look awesome!

Thanks for the replies everyone....
stock it is!! :)
Ah well, if nothing else, it was a fun little photoshop experiment- Try it sometime!
I figure i'm better off not messing with the stock wheels anyway in case I want to sell the car down the line eh?

Now isn't a 'rim' the outter edge of something? I was always perplexed as to why people call wheels 'rims'...
Oh well one of those automotive mysteries that will never be explained.
Anyhow....
Polish the outter lip and then use 1" 3M painters tape around the outter edge. Sand, clean and primer the wheels. Paint the wheels with high gloss, high temp paint and then use a high temp clear coat on them.
The high gloss black with a polished lip would look pretty good IMO.

Often stock wheels weight less than expensive "real rims".

i'm a fan of black wheels too. gotta have a chrome lip or something tho, all black wheels and all black tires is too much. i kinda miss the white letter tires. when i can afford wheels, i think i'm going hyperblack!

The picture makes it look like you spray painted the wheels with a can of spray paint. If you wanna stick with those rims, I'd consider getting them powder-coated or get some aftermarket rims.
My 2 cents.

those rims just look like ass from the factory.. get some 5 stars or somthing and keep those SE rims for winter...
yeah, spay can looks terrible... i mean, i spray can'd mine and look how fugly they look.. i mean seroulsy...
you can spray can anything if you know what your doing... oh, and these are only my winter rims, i stick out like a sore thumb in the snow... so i dont get smoked... and these have over 7K on them and not a single flake or scratch... so.. whats wrong w/ spray canin again? yuppers, thats what i thought!
