Wait... You want an entire system including the HU for less than $250?? Or, you want a HU and then a sub setup for less than $250?

Sorry to get off topic, but is your engine a 2.3L H.O. or 2.0 ?

well if its a 2.0, it is not the quad 4 H.O. or even a quad4 at all. If it says "High Output" on top of the motor, then its the quad4, and you have an awesome engine.

Don't listen to wokeupscreamin... Any Xplode players, speakers, amps, subs, pretty much anything from Sony for car audio BLOWS! You will be out a cd player in less than a year, speakers in less than 6 months, and your amp will shit out on you in the first month... Sony makes HORRIBLE car audio equipment... If it's car audio, and it's cheap, it will break plain and simple. When dealing with car audio, get the most expensive system you can and then you won't have to worry as much about shit breaking.

I agree about the sony stuff, but the most expensive isn't necessarily the best. In most cases you are getting better quality, but look around and don't rush yourself into buying something if you haven't done your research. You can get decent cd/mp3 players by Pioneer, Clarion, JVC, and Alpine and Panasonic (<which I'm not to sure how good they are) for what you are looking to spend. The more the features it comes with, the more it will cost, so keep that in mind. Are you going to be getting subs and other stuff later on? That will also be a factor when you go to buy your deck. Check out places that are trying to get rid of last years models, they usually have some good deals and you can talk 'em down a little. :D

I'll stand by Pioneer on this one. Great quality, looks, and options for a somewhat small price. I bought this HU for $170 : link here (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4039_49927926,00.html).

If you want a good CD player that you won't have to worry about upgrading/fixing for a long time, Alpine is the way to go. They have players with MP3 capability if that's what you're looking for, and those start at around $200. If you're going to be doing a sub setup, you'll def. want a deck with 3 pre-outs, one for your fronts, one for your backs, and one just for the subs. Gotta love sub control on your decks. :D

If you buy a sony HU, it will not blow in the first month, but sony does man inferior equipment. A name like Pioneer, Kenwood, or Alpine will outlast any sony item you can name. My mom has a sony explode HU in her car, and its been in there for years, but she hardly ever uses it, and all that ever comes out of it is josh groban at low volumes.
