I've got a friend whos selling a NOS setup for real cheap. He has a 5lb bottle with a 28 and 75hp jet. Also inclued is a module that will raise fuel pressure when NOS is used to prevent detonation. I have a fresh quad4 with under 20,000 miles rebuilt on it, and I don't want to mess anything major with it. Im in college right now and its my mode of transportation. Do y'all think a 28hp shot of NOS will damage anything? I know that anything will effect something in any small way, but with that small amount shot, would I have to adjust timing or anything? Please let me know..thanks.

It's recommended to retard the spark timing by 2 degrees while spraying. You will need an MSD DIS box or similar to do so.

All dry nitrous system use a fuel pressure riser. If you didn't, you would blow your motor. You don't need to retard timing for a 30 shot, but you'd want to consider it for a 75. You should buy a colder rated spark plug...and make sure your fuels sytem is in good condition as is. You'll be completely fine with 30.

The truth about Nitrous, if you have one method of transportation. Don't spray. Even if a kit is working fine. Anything can go wrong from one minute to the next. If you rely on your car for everyday use. I would recommend not to spray, even as little as a 28shot. Look at the big pic. Your in college for a reason. To get a better future and make more money. If your car lasts through college. Then after you get that nice paying job with your degree be nice to your car and rebuild it and mod the f*ck out of it. Then if you blow it up, you won't have to sweat over getting to class that got you the degree you already have.
