i was reading Car&track :book: and they had a review about the G6 and they said that in late 2005 as a 2006 model they are goin to make a GTP model that is a ((((6 SPEED)))) yea thats right a 6 speed with a 3.9 liter motor instead of the 3.5 liter. its about time they did something right :woohoo:

I think that there is only something like a 40 hp increase from the GT to the GTP and almost all of it is lost by the time it reaches the crank. I am still dying to see it and possibly get one though.

i dunno might be better to rip the eengine and tranny out of one and put in your GA. the G6 kinda looks like a granny car IMO.

But as I know first hand that if you slap a 3.4" pully on a bone stock 3.8 SC motor you can run 14.4 in the 1320.

Spell it with me now. S-U-P-E-R C-H-A-R-G-E-R. That would be sweet. Of course, aftermarket, not from GM, because they only have what....an 60-80hp gain? Who wants that when you can get one that pushes around 120?

It's obvious you don't understand how upgradable the factory supercharger is.

There are GTPs running streetable mid 12s on the factory setup.

They are detuned for several reasons like insurance and emissions just to name a few.

How about the new G6. Looks like a killer replacement if our grand ams hafta go. The two door gtp with 240 horses and a six speed will be out this summer. If i had the cash i would be inline at the dealership.

We have talked about the G6 a lot on here Shawn and Kelly who run this forum also own G6ownersclub.com so you may want to check that site out too.

I believe in GM, i thnik that they'll put out a pretty sweet ride. My only problem is that the GTP will probably cost in the range of 30 grand. I hope it comes in less than the Mustang GT, other wise wuts the point.

I hate the rear tails.. :) (Just wanted to throw that in) =)

I like the rear end, but the tail lamps kinda look like a ripoff of the Toyota Camry Solara. I still like it more than the rear end on the sedans, the taillights on them are just too big IMO.

sorry, 3900 is n/a only, (just in case u didnt know) but a 3900 S/C would be bad ass, probably close to 300hp

DontPassTheFence
03-28-2005, 01:56 AM
yea, just stating my wish list, but I know they would never produce a car that I would actually be 100% satisfied with.

isnt that a bad ass pic of a firebird in ur sig, i saw that in the firebird historic thingy, too bad its not a wallpaper

haha, i loved my old sig, but gotta rep the photochop shoppe strong. everyone one should vote! now!

but back on topic, I have been flipping thru many many pages of pics and info on the 06 G6 GTP, I keep finding more and more reasons to fall in love with it. Its so much like the GA inside it reminds me of the 99+ so much, and the steering wheel is a lot sexier now. Although the tailights are, as prev. stated, sloara-ish, they arent half bad. Love the headlights, foglights, love the performance suspension, love the 18in rims on the GTP!!!, all it needs is some lowering springs or something. 3.9L HO V6 engine coupled to a 6 speed tranny. Perfection, almost. Just need a s/c now. Maybe the 07 G6 SC/T (now, both the supercharger and the styling options, huh?) how great would that be! I couldnt afford one for a few years, but I can wait... Maybe...

So hoe much power is lost before the crank with the GT? Or did they use their magical, frictionless and weightless power train in the GT?

40horses is 40 horses, sure it might be like 20 at the wheels, but the 0 extra horses that the GT has, well thats like -15.

Especially if you go with the 6 speed, less power will be lost before the rubber.

Now i see why GM is having such a hard time, they put out a good product, they are making an attempt, and even their so called supporters and GM owners find something bad to say. :???:
