The driver side door on my Coupe has some problems. The lock doesnt like to unlock alot of the time. It is possible to open it sometimes if I jimmy the inside slide-lock back and forth while pumping the door handle or manhandling the key (dont like doing that hehe). It almost feels like something is warped or catching on something.

The power lock buttons also dont work, yet the doors doo automatically lock when I shift out of park.

I was gonna open up the door to see if I could find anything. Anyone have any suggestions before I do?

Get the right tools for the job, especially some sort of forked panel popper for the 'blind' plastic clips.

If you have a sideview mirror with mechanical remote lever/button in the door panel, be VERY careful!
* It isn't humanly possible to remove the damned plastic clip that holds the cable to the panel.
* If you're careful, you can leave it attached, and kinda 'rotate' the panel so it sets out of the way, almost on the windshield; tape it there temporarily.
* If you break the plastic clip, take the parts to the stealership and show them; it happens so often, I think they have a box of replacements under the counter. :aargh:

Your problem is prolly simple wear or deformation problem of the linkage , but it's very tough to work in the confines of the door.

Good luck.
