Disconnecting the battery won't help. The only thing the PCM is involved in is shutting off the injector pulse after it recieves a signal from the VTD module. Nine out of ten times its a lock cylinder. The more advanced scanners can read anti theft codes. I suggest having the codes read first before hitting it with the golden shovel.
will explain it all when i get back home again here, but got it working, stupid remote starter
Thanks guys!

Well here is what happeend, the light came on last night on my way back from dinner, I stopped, turned the car off, and back on, and the light was out again, so I didn't think too much about it.
This morning I was on my way to work and it came on again, I thought ok, this is weird, parked, shut the car off, turned it back on again, and it worked no problem again.
After work I went out and it started up no problem, and then died, withe h light blinking, tried a few times, still nothing, checked the fuse, again start and then die. Came up to work and posted the orig message. Went back down, pulled some fuses (one to reset eh computer) and the other for the theft light. Again nothing, checked Jay's post, tried the battery, nothing again. Called a friend of mine who works as a GM tech, he suggested how to clear the theft light, start the car, let it die and let the light blink for about ten minutes, and it should go out on its own, meanwhile since I had disconnected all my wires for my remote starter, I thought, k put it back together, as soon as i plugged in the last set of wires, the car came to life. AHA!, turns out the wire from my passlock bypass module, had tugged itself loose (should have used cable ties!, and will correct that issue as well) I figure it was losing one of its connections both times the light came on, making the car believe the key was not in. and that today it fell right out. anyway, all is reconnected and workng fine, Jay thanks for the quick rpely again man

Ahhhhh, stupid wires. Doesnt it just piss you off Blake to know a simple wire connection fault can cause all kinds of problems ? Reminds me of the days I had to get my car towed twice because it kept shutting down and losing all power at 120 km/hr. All it was, was a connection to my jet speed module having a small amount of paint on it. Grrr...
