Type of motor oil?

What type of oil should I use in a 97 Grand am SE?It has the V-6 3.1 l. I recently change with the Valvoline 5w30 high mileage type, since it has 90k miles on it.Is this a good choice?

Valvoline is good Exxon is also good. As long as it is running fine i would stay with 5w-30

i run 10-30... oil with no probs.. but i could care less... but i get all car parts at cost from my dad so i buy whatever they got at his store... so usually its just penzoil.. regular 10-30 oil... and worked great for all the cars ive owned

I've used castrol in every vehicle I've had since 91. I've got 5w-30 in the 98 blazer and 10w-40 in the 90 GA.
