My A/C clutch does not engage when A/C is selected, the elec. fan does not come on either. I can see a high side switch on top of the condenser, but cannot find a low side switch (I do find the port) It is a 93 GA with 3.3. Any suggestions?
Thanx!
If your pressure drops too low it won't kick on either. Has to be above 25psi when you put the guage on the low pressure-side(usually the one with the blue cover on it). If you don't have a guage you can pick one up at any auto parts store, even walmart.

How does the system know when to shut off/stop working, you say at 25psi. How does the car know?

Did not quite understand that that too well but, the a/c system has something in it call a pressure switch.

Thats what I am asking, I know it uses pressure switches to monitor both high and low side of the system, where is the low side pressure switch?
My understanding is that since the low-side is relative to the high side, a separate switch on the low-side is not needed. Just my thoughts.
The reason why I say 25psi is the cut-off is from experience on my own GA. I have a slow leak and that's where it cuts off at. If I recharge to 40 psi it's nice and cold.
I just realized yours is a '93 so you are probably using R-12 and mine is a 95 which use R-134a so the pressure readings may be different. Sorry if I added confusion.
