3100 to 3400

I was wonderin' if it was possible to drop the 1996 Monte Carlo Z34 3.4L into the 1996 Pontiac Grand Am GT? If so, how hard/easy will it be, and what should I expect from this swap?

The 3.4 out of a 96 Monte is not a 3400 like GAs, its a 3.4 DOHC. That would make this swap very difficult to do, I believe there has been some discussion about that over on 60degreeV6 boards. I dont think anyone has done it yet tho, if someone did do it, it would definately be neat but not worth it IMO. Also, the 3.4 DOHC is a high maintanence engine, but they do have great power and respond really good to mods.

This site might help you out with some specs and mods if you do find a way to swap it out. I'd pondered that same idea when I saw the 3.4 DOHC engine in a local junkyard for next to nothing in price.
