While driving down the road, my fuel guage, speedo, tach, and temp guage all went dead, the ETS OFF, check oil, low trac, volt, low coolant warning lights and low fuel & high temp indicator lights all came on. Does anyone know whats going on?
The dealership suggested the alternator may be going, even though it was only 20k ago that I just threw a new on on. Any way to check the alt. without going to a garage and getting a test performed?
Please Help!!!

Verify the voltage coming from your battery with the car off; you should be getting 12.5-13 volt. Now turn on the car and check again, you should be getting 13.5-15 volt. If it's not higher with the car on or barely higher then it either your alternator or the wiring between the alternator and the battery. If it's low with the car off but normal with the car on then it's your battery.

Thanks for your input, it's good to hear from a fellow Canuck, however, I did check the voltage output on the battery with car off (12.57v), and with the car running (14.56v). I also cleaned the battery terminals, and checked the fuses. Anyone with any other input would be appreciated.

As an update, I just changed the ECM module, and it didn't make any difference with the guages, the car, however, would fire but not run, which I guess would then need the dealer to re-program the ECM module, but should not have any bearing on the guages.
Tomorrow, I am going to throw a new instrument panel in and see if that makes any difference.
Any takers on any other ideas would be much appreciated.
I'll keep you updated.
