I need to replace the power steering rack on my 92 grand am se with the quad 4 2.3l.We figured out that the steering rack broke loose somehow from the firewall and that is what screwed up the lines on the rack and why we have to replace it.I am wondering does anyone know how the rack connects to the firewall and if it is something that comes with the new rack or do i need to go to a wrecking yard and try to salvage the rack mounts.
I am also wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to replace the rack in this car as It is almost December so I am going to have to take it to a shop to have it done.
