View Full Version : MY Foglight Thread

Ok, I don't just want to upgrade the foglight bulb, I want to replace the whole thing with a REAL foglight (because it doesn't seem like the current ones actually do anything, and yes even in fog they are useless).
So, what kind would you recommend? I was thinkin maybe projectors... Also, I've heard good things about blazertech's, which is better the 2200 or 3200? I
am also thinking of getting Silverstars or PIAA's for the headlights, are the PIAA's actually worth the extra money? Or should I just say screw it and go HID? Let me have your opinion.

Go with either blazertech or angel eye's by Hella (they have a clear lense). That's what I have. Then just upgrade the bulb from the stock 55W to either a Silverstar (if they make H3's) or something super white. They will look awesome and keep the white look rather than a ricey blue.
These are mine. They look a little more white in person, the camera seemed to tone it down a bit, but you get the idea.

Thanks for the reply. That is a good idea switching the lights in the blazertech's. And I definately prefer white over blue...
The Hella Angel Eyes... they look sorta cheap sitting in the box at the store, do they look better on your car in person (in the daytime)? At first, I wasn't sure about the Angel Eye light rings, but now I'm starting to like them more. Are they legal?
And another thing worth considering... I'd like foglights that point downward if possible, so they don't blind everyone. I know on my old Alero there were projectors and there was a distinct horizontal line where they stopped (when shining on a wall)... I liked it. Do you know if Blazertech's/Hella's are like this?

Make sure they are made by Hella and not another brand. Not sure the other names but they have the multicoloured rings. You can see the halo ring from mine in my sig pic. I'll see if I can find a pic during the day.
As for aiming them, you will use the stock braket so you can aim them up or down as far as you like. These lights are a little larger than most (4in dia) so they won't be like a set of projectors, but they will give you that line and light up your wat 10x more than stock.

Awesome... That line is definately a good thing. I'm assuming you need to run a new power wire and T-splice into the current one for installation?
Also, I'm not too sure how projectors would look for foglights, they'd be a little small for the openings... Anyone ever see some?
Wow, I'm 'whoring up the boards tonight!!

Yeah, I'll see what I can dig up for ya, I have some links around here that explain how to do it. I think the Hella's or Blazertech's look best, and they fit perfectly in the openings.
As for a daytime pic, here it is.

Thanks a bunch!!
Those look like pretty standard foglights in the daytime (a very good thing), much better than when they are in the package... Also, would you happen to have any pics of your fogs shining on a wall? Just to see how sharp the "line" is?
And finally, where did you put your switch for the Angel Eyes?
Any suggestions for headlights now?

No pics on a wall, I might be able to get some this weekend and post them back later if someone else doesn't have any. The switch it just hanging loose right now. I'm going to be putting it where my factory tape player was I think, or down along the side of the centre console.
The headlight bulbs were cheap superbright bulbs from a local performace place. $20 CAD and they last quite a while.

Neither the Hella or the BlazerTech 3200 are fog lights. They're driving lights. The BlazerTechs 2200 are the only fog lights that have been mentionned in this thread.

Hence the reason I am changing them... I would like to have functional foglights for when I drive in fog (and also for a little peace of mind, it bugs me that they are just for looks).

Im just wondering how much the BlazerTech 3200 light up the road ahead of you. Do they reach some the distance the headlights reach?

They will give you areound the same lighting as high beams, well mine do anyways. In the process of getting some pics against a wall. I'll have them posted Sunday night.

Hey, thanks a lot...
I will get some with my old Alero this weekend too, if I get the chance.

Sorry for such a delay with the pics. Weather has been really crappy and I've been working a late so I just haven't had a chance...until now. :D
Don't mind the angle of the pictures, the wind was blowing really hard so the only way to keep it in focus was to pit it on the car. Also I was kind of on an angle so the beams should be pointed a little higher up, ah well.
1 more thing, my headlights suck, my drivers side has always been lower than the other, don't ask me why but no matter how much I adjust them, it's still out of wack...enough with my rambling, here's the pics!!
