So I was supposed to be getting a HO manifold but that kinda fell through for now. Since I DO have the TB I looking to intall that on my car. Any help with what needs to be modded to get it to mount and work?

I wouldnt waste your time. i would just hold it till you get the ho manifold.

What is involved though? If I'm not going to have the mani anytime soon I'd want to atleast get the larger TB in.

im not 100% sure since i have never done it. But i know your going to have to drill new holes in the TB since the 2.3 tbs have 2 bolt holes and the 2.4 tbs have 4 bolt holes. you will also have to hook up a throttle cable bracket somehow, i dont know if you need the 2.3 one or 2.4 one.

But like i said dont bother with it, youll have to basicly hack up the 2.3 tb then it might not even be good to use on the ho manifold, and your not going to notice a gain, the 2.4 tb is plenty for the stock motor.

UM..... urweak.... you got some incorrect info on your hands...

increased throttle response is always a benefit that is appreciated..

okay a 2.3 t/b will bolt up to a 2.4 intake manifold.... it just depends on what 2.3 t/b you have....

there's just one modification that I had to do to my particular 2.3 t/b to make it fit on a 2.4 intake manifold. I took a bench grinder and ground down the coolant passage that runs through the t/b so that it would clear one small part of the 2.4 intake manifold.

The two bolt holes on the 2.3L t/b are plenty to get it bolted on snuggly with no leaks. I know... I shot nitrous through the damn thing.. no complaints.

there is one thing that is complicated... the linkage where you have to hook the throttle cable to hits the intake manifold.... you can do a few things, get adremel and cut at it enough so that it'll clear, and make a small notch on the intake manifold. Or you can probably I'm not sure as I haven't heard anybody doing this, swap the 2.4L linkage onto the 2.3 throttle body.

and it still bolts up perfect to the 2.3 manifold...

urweak where did you hear that a larger throttle body does NOTHING. You don't have to feel a seat of the pants gain to have an improvement. The intake manifold can handle up to a 62mm throttle body. Personally I would try to give the car as much ability to suck in air as possible. Every little bit helps and that's a fact, especially with all the intake setups I have been through and never talked about.

The TB I have was said to be from a HO 94 engine. Does that mean that the bolt holes on the 2.3 will bolt right to the ones on the 2.4 mani? And what kind of time do you think this would take a novice such as me?

it depends on if you have a bench grinder, and a dremel, and if you are good w/ your hands. The removal and replacement part is easy.

It depends on how good you are with working with your hands and trusting your skill at, well, f u c k i n g with s h i t to make it work. I've been taking thigns apart and putting them back together ever since I was 6 years old. I'm 21 now, I'm pretty damn good and confident in my, "fabrication" skills.

Do I have to do anything with the EGR or is that not TB related? Cause I know I do if I was doing the manifold.

no you dont need to touch the EGR to change a throttle body.

i'd just wait until you put the HO manifold on as urweak suggested

So I got the Ho TB I won and just went out and compared it to my car and ofcourse with my luck it doesn't match up. This TB is missing a nipple that goes to the fuel rail and some kind of sensor that goes on the opposite side of the TB from the Throttle cable bracket.

From looking at some HO TB pictures the one I got looks light a 2.4 but stlightly differant.

you only have to modify the linkage slightly to clear the 2.4L intake manifold, and grind down the the coolant passage on the backside of the t/b and WALA!!!

It is like that picture he posted but there is still no nipple for the Fuel pressure vacuum and the holes for the TPS sensor need to be drilled/modified

NEvermind the TPS thing cause I'm sure when I get the 2.3 TPS sensor it'll be fine so now I'm just wondering about fuel rail hose connection

for the fuel rail vacuum port, just share one of the vacuume sources on the t/b.... you should be fine... or share from the intake manifold the lil port where your MAP sensor is on... it SHOULD be for the most part fine.
