headlights not comeing on all the time.

Im haveing troubles with my headlights. It started about a week ago. They arent truning on all the time, and I found that if i pull the switch likr to flash the high beams they will come on, some times it takes a try or two but i can always get them to come on. Its more annoying than anyting, but what really gets me is yesterday i was driving down the road and they SHUT OFF on me!

Any ideas what it might be or how to fix it?

Bad ground or a bad switch. I'm going with switch as they seem to act different the more you play with the switch.

That style of GA seems to commonly have bad headlight switches. So that's my first guess as well. Another possibility is that the wiring is bare in the headlight circuit, and when the bare wire hits metal, it shorts out and keeps the light from going on. This happened in my '89, and some electrical tape fixed it. ;)
