'89 Grand Am 2.3 Quad non HO. I have pretty much determined from reading past post, I have a timing chain guide issue.
I have a very loud "rattle" between 1600 rpm and 2500 rpm.
Too many children to start replacing parts to solve this problem.
Are the parts a OEM only purchase or can I go to my local "Pull a part" graveyard to replace the guides?

I wouldn't buy used parts, as the timing chain guides will probably be worn on those as well. You can buy the timing chain set, but I'm not sure about the price. Maybe $100 or so. I don't think you have to go to GM to buy them - should be able to get them at NAPA or the like...
