You will need something for the radio. No antenna no reception.

No it wont effect the CD's
but forget about radio. You might pick up some stations sometime but not for long.

A long time ago radio shack used to sell a window antenna that was clear and you could stick on the top of the rear window for people who shaved their antenna. I havn't seen this in their store any more, does anyone one know of a similar product? This might be worth looking into.

if you want to have some fun get a back window out an alero. The back window of an alero has the antenna made into it. I would just get a power antenna.

btw.. antenna in the back... makes the gramd am look like an RC car

I remove my antenna every night before I put the cover on (it snows like mad here), else I'd rip the cover.
It hasn't hurt anything yet.

in the old station wagon we use to have had a power antina and we knew if we used the raido in the winter i would freeze and stick up all winter. so we go with out the radio and listen to the noise the engine made.

Good point Jordon. Here as well, even late in autumn, my Firebird's antenna would freeze in the up position, or freeze shut so it wouldn't go up.
Power antenna's are a PIA if you have a cold climate ever, but if it's warm, go for it.

just shave the antenna, take the car to a resepecatable shop and have them shave it for you and relocate it under the rear deck by the 6x9"s you'll still get reception and be smooth and sleek if you just have a knub with threads sticking up it looks retarded

I have a friend that salvaged a little itty bitty fold down antenna off a GP GT or an Impala. Looks better, was $5, and folds down nice to the body. I'll try and get a pic if I visit him this week.
You can put dang near anything on from any car as long as you can make it sit flush with the body in that location, and know a little about wiring to adapt it. A lot of Euro cars have very nice little compact antennas that you can throw on that are no more than a little black bump.
I've also seen something similar to this on a GA.

Then again you could always pimp out your ride with this! :jenny:
