I've never had work done to a car by the dealership before, I'm considering after last summers nightmare having them install my motor and new wiring harness back into my GA.
I assuming these guys should know there stuff when it comes to wiring?
The last guy that went at my wiring charged me 28 bucks a hour... took over a week at 8 hours a day and it still wasn't right

Our cars are actually pretty simple. I'm sure the dealer would take on the job and get it done right. It's gonna cost you but at least they won't charge you for a week of labor.

Best thing to do would be do it yourself. May take a while if you're not experienced but you'll learn alot along the way.

A good start would be to buy a service manual....ebay usually has them....even have the electrical supplements.

Personally I think you should always bring your car to a dealership over an ordinary mechanic. The guys are trained specifically to your type of car and you should see the amount of manuals they have, i worked at a dealership for an internship in High School. And if they do screw you over or mess your car up for some reason, you have one of the most generous warranty's on parts and labor that you wont find at most mechanics. And alot of people say that the price is so much higher on everything but since i have taken my cars to dealerships I get discounts in the mail to get a oil change and regualar service for less than those hacks at Jiffy Lube

jiffy lube are a bunch of hi-jackers... just change your own oil, it isnt hard... and remember to replace to oil filter.

lol, then you know the hi-jacking of which I speak. 40 bucks to change my oil... when the correct amount of oil costs 20$ and a filter is 5ish. I think not!
Lets not forget to mention that the last time i went to jiffy lube, some dumb schmuck decided to overfill my poor 00 Sentra (it doesnt need 6 quarts of oil) with low grade oil, so it smoked the entire way home. I was pissed, so pissed that I felt it necessay to do tray slides in the parking lot the next day. That taught them not to f with my ricer...

Well, since a front wheel drive car cant do donuts easily, me and my friends (we probably arent the only ones to do this) put trays under the rear tires of our FWD cars and we do some donuts ghetto style, it works for the most part, but when the tray is completely destroyed, your tires catch the road and your slide gets a little rough, and it isnt quite a donuts after that. Its pretty retarded, but we do it anyways... well not with my grand am, its my baby, but my old 00 Sentra was the tray slide king, it was such a ricer pile of shit anyways...

I think that is true for new cars not for older ones mine for example the dealerships try to tell me that the grand am never came with the 2.0l turbo motor in it that someone swaped it from a sunbird. now for me to take my car to a company that dose not even acknowledge they made the car dose not seam like a good idea.

Last time I went to a dealer was a Mitsubishi place. Had my son's Talon TSi there. Got a little discouraged after we had to explain to the mechanic HOW to fix the car.

I've had the dealer distroy one vehicle, my 85 Ranger was called in for a recall notice and when I didn't go they tempted me with a free oil change (the recall had to do with a warning light, I think for the O2 sensor). Anyway after returning home and driving for over a week I decided to check the oil level. Three quarts brought it up to the add line. The car started to get very noisy in the valve train and we traded it in within a week. Went to Chevy for the next car.
