ok this is a question for those of you that have a flowmaster 80 series custom cat-back exhaust. how much did it cost and also did you have to buy two mufflers or just one with on inlet and 2 outlets.

mine was $150 inclduing install for the muffler and 80 for the tips including install. its one "big" muffler but still less than 1/2 the size of the stock muffler. its got 1 inlet and 2 outlets...a transversely mounted muffler (sideways) with the inlet on one side nad one outlet from each side. same as the camaro muffler.

$150 for cat-back? or was that just the muffler and tips?

the 80 series I got from Jegs,75 bucks,2 sets of dual tips,70 bucks, then installation was around 100 bucks since I already had my exhaust setup as a cat-back,so look at around 150 depending on shop, especially if they do mandrel bending,so far no shop has charged me a lot for it.

well flowmaster isnt catback...its a muffler. i guess i have stock pipes from my cat flange to the 80 series. not that the pipe diameterr makes a huge difference anyway if the rest of the system is stock.

well actually if i go to a shop im goin cat back and a little bigger pipe is better cause theres less back pressure and at the factory dealers, on cars that aren't usually built as sports cars, put more restrictive equipment the exhaust bein one of them, so i am lookin to do cat back so i will be lookin at around 150 for them to make a custom bent pipe, hmmm

Yea,I had another exhaust setup before I got the 80 series muffler:) I had 2 1/4 piping installed about a year ago with a dual tipped muffler before I went with dual out muffler(the 80 series)

Yea a custom exhaust isn't cheap, but it does the same job as a bolt on exhaust would, since there isn't a lot of choices, mainly 2 for the 3.4, SLP and Borla, both aren't cheap either.

Just be aware that between Borla and SLP,from seeing other people with these exhaust, the SLP exhaust tends to get a little raspy but some don't mind it. Mine tends to have some, but I have a 2.4 and its normal for 4cyl to sound that way with basic engine mods. Either way, SLP and Borla are good exhausts:)

Go with SLP piping, then add a Flowmaster 80 and different tips. I am running this, no rasp, nice sound, and good power. Grandamgt.com has a lot of info on this, mopowr79
