Well I though it's about time that someone posted this so here it goes!

Note: When trying this take your time and make sure it looks good. I take no responsibility for damaged parts or if you can't follow directions. Make sure this mod is within your skill range. If you are unsure then you probly should not try doing this.

Tools Needed:

Chisel
Hammer
Utility Knife
Scissors
3M Spray Glue
Fabric of choice
5-Minute Plastic Weld Epoxy
Newspaper
Old Pencil
Some type of weight to hold the panel down

It took me about 45 minutes per panel + set time for the epoxy once I got the door pannels off.

Here's the Before and after Shot

Step 1:

Place the door pannel face down, Lift the underpad staples up and peel back the pad, once this is done take your hammer and chisel and carefully sheer off the plastic welds/tabs ***be careful not to destroy them totally and keep them in order as you will be using them to help re-attach the pannel***

pannel with tabs sheared off, you can see the tabs above the panel

Step 2:

Remove the insert panel and lay face up on the ground, cut a piece of fabric large enough to cover the pannel with some extra to trim off later. Next take your fabric and lay over the pannel. Lift up one corner and spray glue and coat one corner of the pannel and slowly lay the fabric over the corver, smoothing out any creases/air pockets before the glue drys.

once you have the corner started, peel back the unglued fabric to the edge of the glued part and start laying the rest down, small sections at a time until the panel looks like this.

Step 3:

Once you have everything smoothed out it's time to cut out the edges so that you'll be able to re-attach the pannel. Carefully lift the edges on the plastic part and cut around the holes.

Step 4:

Now that the pannel is ready for install, lay it back into place and pix up a reasonable amount of Epoxy. You'll want enough so that you can fill the holes and still not have it start to cure before your done. Once the epoxy is mixed take the old pencil or other tool you used to mix the epoxy and put a generous amount into each hole and place the caps you sheered off ontop as you fill. It is best to do these in sections and apply the weight (I used 2 phone books) onto the pannel to ensure a flush fit. once you have filled the holes and placed the weight on you'll have about 4-6 hours to wait before the epoxy drys. (I let this cure overnight and did panels 1 at a time over a few days)

Here is your finished product once the epoxy has dried. If any areas are not totally secure just put a bit of epoxy in the joint and let cure. Super glue will also work for single rivits.

Enjoy!
