If you owned a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am Se with the V6 and say you had some cash to spend (say 500$). What would be the first thing you would buy to improve performance?

Pesonally, I'd start with lowering the car. With the money left over you could get a K&N filter.
Damn, $500 doesn't go very far.

lowering springs,exhaust,or either an air intake so youd have money left over,might even have enough for a total exhaust(cat-back)

how much is it to lower a car?

i paid 140 for springtech lowering springs shipped to my house....90 for install.....40 for an allignment......dont forget you will probably end up getting shocks and struts too cause the springs will wear yours out eventually...so pretty much for a good ride....meaning drop and handling.....i would say 400-500.
