I did a search and could not find this.

I don’t know if I spelled transmission correct, but no matter. Hypothetical, I have a 2, 95 GAs. One is a V6 3.1L with a auto transmission. The second is 4-Cyl. 2.3 L with a manual transmission. I take the V6 from the first car and put it into the second car, so that I have a V6 with a manual transmission.

1. Will it bolt up to the engine mounts and transmition with no modifications?

2. How much modifying will need to be done?

3. Aside from the cost of the cars, how much will it cost if I do it myself?

4. Has anyone here done it before?

5. Is there a easy, or cheaper way to get a V6 with a manual transmission?

Thanks

get a 94+ camaro/firebird or mustang. i think the eclipse is/was available with a 6cyl and a manual tranny. no GM sedan has been available in stick for a while (beretta?).

Older Z24 had 3.1 V6 with manual tranny...92-94 years that I know of...

Hypotheticaly yes. Your best bet is the Getrag tranny that the Beretta, Z24, etc used. IIRC all the way back to 85 or 86 to early 90s you could get a Z24 with a 2.8 and manual or a 3.1 manual.

:agree: Yes, I would use a Getrag... not the Isuzu 5-speed in your 95.

the beretta, sunbird and cavalier had 2.8l or 3.1l 5spds from 88-93. that tranny is geared alot better for your 3100 than the 4cyl one. the mounts will have to be cut off the manual car and welded onto the other.. it will bolt to the engine though.

there are a half dozen or more 5spd 3100/3400 berettas floating around on the beretta msg boards. we can do it, so can you. i think one of the guys said he only spent around $600 getting the parts he needed and a week or so doing the work in his spare time. that's heck of alot cheaper than buying a decent-running car that already has a 5spd v6..

.. did the GA never get a manual 2.8/3.1? that's really surprising, as it's so similar to the other gm cars that did..

this Q. keeps coming up. one of these days, one of you guys is going to pull this off.

=D

i'm pulling for y'all.
