Odd problem with 2.4L

Wassup everybody I have a 97GAGT 2.4L 5speed, today while I left the house my engine light came on, a few hours later it turned back off (which it tends to do time to time), but this time after it turned off my car started making this rattling sound. It doesn't do it on idle or acceleration, it only does it in 2nd gear and above when i left off the gas n the engine winds down. Anybody else ever had this problem? Any idea what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated

The light went back off though, no idea when it'll decide to come on again

where is the rattling sound comming from? are you still in gear when you slow down, does it go away if you put the clutch in anything else

Sound sounds like it's coming pretty much from up front dead center, it still does it when u press down the clutch, but not quite as loud. But it's at it's worst when it's in gear and u let off the gas as the engine winds down. Then when u press the gas again, it stops. Only does it when decellerating

One of the sources of rattling sounds are loose heat shields around the exhaust. It's an easy thing to check before you go ripping anything else apart.
