Ever since I got my car the horn never worked.I checked the fuse and nothin was wrong. So I figured the horn relay would be it. Could someone tell me where the relay is located at and maybe what other possibilites it could be?

Thanks

I replace a bad horn on my '96 Achieva. The horns are located in the right front fender (usually).

There are three parts to the horn circuit. You have the buttons on the steering wheel. Those buttons fire a relay. The relay sends amps to the horns.

When you push the buttons on the steering wheel you should hear the relay clicking. If you hear it clicking, put a meter on the wire at the horn to see if you have power there.

If you don't hear clicking, it could be a bad relay or something wrong with the buttons.

Earlier I tried to change the horn relay but couldn't find it. I took the light off but couldn't find the relay, but I did find just the horn.do I have to take off the horn?

Take the wire off the horn and either test the wire with a meter to see if you're getting power at the horn or run a wire from the horn and one from the battery and touch them together away from the battery.

If the horn is shorted, you'll get a big spark so you dont want to be touching the battery post with the wire.
