i'm looking in to purchasing an slp exhaust system for my car from pfyc.com. It says on the website that installation isn't very difficult, but do i need to take it to an exhaust shop to have it installed, or can I probably do it with the help of my dad?
Thanks:)

You could do it with the help of your dad, all you need is a sawzall or cutting wheel, air tools make it easier but can be done with hand tools, and some jack stand to rise the car up enough to get under it. Thats really all thats too it.

Is it better to have all the pipes welded or are they fine with the clamps?

Clamps will work just fine, you can have a shop weld it if you want but its not really needed IMO unless you have the money to spend to do it and then its worth it ;)

Tims right. With the proper cutting tools it does make it easy.
Tim.... do you have any pics of the proper cut off points to remove the stock exhaust?

No I don't, I lost all those pics when my last PC crashed. But you can cut it just before the rear axle up high and wiggle it out.

pfyc.com has instructions on cutting your pipes. If you go to the site and click on the borla link and there is instructions or try this link------> http://www.pfyc.com/supportfiles/ga5001install.pdf

When I installed mine, I used a set of ramps. I had to cut the stock exhaust in 2 places, once before the rear tire and once after. If you have a hoist available or a shop to install it, one cut should do it. I just used a hacksaw with a new blade, 5 minutes per cut. Fter that everything else went smoothly. mopowr79
