I've been noticing this weird knocking sound coming from the back wheel/s. Usually happens at lower speed over slight bumps. Could it be my shocks?
I have the drums on the back wheels. I started noticing this sound after a very cold night.....any help would be appreciated...

There is also a weird squeekish noise coming from the front wheel. I was wondering if it could be the sway bar. As always any help is greatly appreciated......

I've got the exact same knocking noise. I believe it is the shock. Mine sounds like the back passenger side. I don't think its the brakes because I tried it while holding down the brake pedal slightly and it still happens. But like you said, it happens after sitting for a cold night. It seems once I drive it a bit, it stops knocking?! Help.

Its your rear shocks.

push your rear bumper down hard. it the car bobbles up and down, your shocks are probably bad. if the car returns to position without alot of oscillation, they're probably good. do the same side-to-side to test the struts..

there are alot of things that can squeak. visually inspect all the rubber bushings and replace any that are cracked or dry-rotted.. that might not even help. is it squeaking all the time? when turning? braking? change pitch with speed?

I would check the lugnuts on your tires too.. just make sure they're all tight.. I know we had a flat fixed on our jeep once, an the guy forgot to tighten the lugnuts (how?!).. Anyway, it made this really REALLY bad knocking sound until we got it looked at.. Apparently the wheel coulda came off.

Might not be the shocks. My car had a bad rear upper shock mount and it sounded like you describe. The shock was ok, but the mount was toast. Replaced the mount and no more noise.

you have a bad rear strut.. replace both of them.. they are supposed to be done in pairs...

I had the same problem with my 99 ga so i would turn my stereo up and finally the noise downded my stereo out so i took it to the shop and it was my strut bearing. check that first before you change your struts
