car wont start when EYE want it to

i replaced the ignition control module and it will start and idle now...but on the highway, i cannot excede 45 mph, or it will stall. i have to drive 45 w/ my hazzards on. also...if im at a stop light, i have to let of the brake, let it start goin by itself, then ease into the throttle or it will stall. my dad thinks its the fule pump, and were going to go to auto zone and replace the 79 dollar part. any advice or tech support as to how to do it or where it is would be helpful.

oh...also...as the thread title indicates, it will not start right away after sitting for 5 minutes, but it will start right away after about an hour of sitting there (ie: spending 8 hours at school at school, it will usually catch within about 2 or 3 attempts). usually, when im trying to start it, it will catch for a half a second, then die.
