The car was running a little rough, I figured it was a blend of winter mix gas and plug wires since I am running the stockers that came with the car new. They only have 75k on them but I figure since they are over 6yrs old. It was time. The plugs were new in October so those were still good, and gapped right, but it was throwing codes for random misfires. Its old, what can you expect. So today when changing the wires out, this is what I found.

After spending $50 to get new coil packs (gotta love the autozone discount) the car is running 10x better. I didn't gain any HP, just got back what it was missing. So if you have a rough idle and some inconsistant acceleration problems, try your coil packs.

Holy crap man! I cant believe how much corrosion got on those things in 6 years. Egad, looks like I might want to check mine out.

I have seen the exact same thing on lot's of vehicles . My car had it as well when i checked the coils last summer . I cleaned off the terminals and the engine seemed to run smoother .
