there should be a spot where a big group of wires pass through the firewall. just take the grommet out, or slit it with a knife, and poke the power wire through it. if you have a bigger power wire, 4 gauge or better, it might not fit. in which case you would have to take a drill and drill a hole through the firewall. if you do that just be careful where you're drilling so you don't break something major. and whichever way you go it wouldn't hurt, although not completely necessary, to put some caulk on the hole to keep moisture from getting in the car

My '96 was impossible to find a wiring harness going through the firewall, so I had to drill :(. The 99+ have one that's easily accessible, so hopefully your '94 is the same as the '99+.

94 is just as bad. You gotta remeber outside of some styling and interior differences the 92-95's and 96-98's are the same exact cars. Well maybe a little more diferences then that but nothing big at all

Where did you drill through on the 96? I'm wiring up my amps this weekend and would like to know where someone drilled safely, so that I can get a good idea of where a good spot is. Pictures would also be very helpful. :D thanks

If I have time...I suppose I could try and take some pics...:roll2: I drilled through just left of the steering column. I used a grommet and also some of this tar stuff. Not sure what it's called but a buddy of mine who does installs gave me some to seal it up. I ran my power wire and remote wire down the drivers side and the RCA's down the other to reduce any noise from the engine coming through the speakers.

yeah, an existing bolt is a good ground source. probably not as good as making a new grounding point, but it'll work.

When I asked a local professional stereo installer how they did it... He said that it's not a good idea to just connect the ground to a bolt (it could/probably will have oxidation on the surface which in turn will make it conduct electricity less effeciently). He recommended drilling a hole into the body, then sanding all of the paint around that area so there would be maximum contact between the wire and the metal and attach with a screw.
Remember... electrons flow from negative to positive, the ground is just as important as the "power" wire.

Here is a requested pic of where I drilled through into my firewall. I have one hole for my alarm siren and a larger one for my amp wire. Just left of the steering column behind the padding. Don't mind the messy wiring :roll2:, I have a little tidying to do. :D

that's what i did... but that's just the easy convient quick way. for a more efficient better and more professional job.. you need to drill a hole. i will be doing that soon as it gets warm out.
