I'm looking to upgrade to something a bit more than what i have, which is not much. 2 'fosgate 10's and an old a$$ 1000 watt xplode amp which i got for free. I've been looking at getting a SPLw12 but cant find any consumer reviews on them. Anybody have any opinions on these?
Thanks, T0ny

They're actually the SPLX series.
Those things are crazy, available quad voice coils. Those subs would give your SONY amp a heart attack.
Forget it...............Stick with the Tarantula's. Trust me more than your ears need.

Well, i didnt figure that amp would hold up long with the SPL. I'm in the market for another amp too. What exactly are these tarantulas?

have you considered Image dynamics...the IDMAX sub rocks. other good SPL subs are the TREO CSX series.

Cause thats not a soundstream sub like you listed as the topic for this tread. That is an SPL brand.
And I'd get two of those tarantulas. cause they are dual 1 ohm sub. so you can run them at a combined 1 ohm or 4 ohm load. and when get around to change your amp, u can be more versatile with what you get.
cheers

2200 watts has to be max. i can't see a speaker that handles 2200 watts RMS being sold anywhere near $150.....or 180 for that matter.

then id get teh SSX series...thats what i had. they won me 2 trophies at 1 show, and i didnt even go to enter...they made me enter. my system wasnt tuned or anything. i just bought them for everyday use.
i sold em cus they were too loud for what i wanted to do in my car...and i went with a 10 vs 12 for tighter hits.
