more horsepower

I have a 2002 Grand Am SE1 with a 2.2 ecotech engine and what I was wondering is it possible to stop it from shuting down at 170km/hr.Also is it possible to increase the horsepower.I am not looking for alot about 30hp.

You will have to reprogram the computer before you can get past the speed or rpm cutoff.

The 2.2 is quite buildable. I don't have one, but have read a number of threads about the little motor.

I have heard that all grand am's 2002 are not programable if this info is false plz let me know what programer i need, i also heard that if you get a programer you can incress horse power with it aswell.

I'm not really sure what computer upgrades are out there. I know the limited in the GA is a fuel shutoff but thats about it. I wouldnt see why the 2002 would not be able to be changed it just is a matter of what is available there just may not be an update that takes the limiter off yet. Check out rsmracing.com for upgrades though for more power
