My audio guy said that i he needs to keep my factory cd player and mount it in the trunk,is needed or can i just throw it out what has everyone else done?

hey said the beeping sound thats come when u put in the key comes from the speaker that is connected to the facotry deck,so he said that the deck needs to stay and will mount it in the trunk am confused too

You must be talking about the "chimes", yes if you want to keep those you'll need to keep the factory radio and relocate it. There is a wiring harness that is like $80 to do that (facts could be alittle off, Im just going off of memory right now). But, unless you really want to keep those chimes then there really is no reason to keep the radio in place. Just my opinion.

You don't need to do that. 2000 was the last year gm use the old school wiring system in the grand am. All you need is a dash-kit and wiring kit. The 2001+ grand ams has to relocate or get a chime box.
