Everytime i buy a sub, someone else always has a louder one. I am tired of it. Does anyone know what the loudest sub is. I want to find it and buy it. I heard of the Eclipse 18" Titanium Pro sub which is supposed to be loud. What is the biggest, loudest, baddest sub out. I need to find out so i can save up $$ and buy it. Then we will see who is the loudest.

its not all about being loud bro that have to have a nice clean hit or its not going to sound good just annoying.. if you save up your money I would reccommend the new W7s from JL Audio they sound really good if you have a nice size amp

then build a setup like that of Alma Gates (her old system) with 64 10" subs, 32 amplifiers. it held the world record for SPL, around 173 dB or so...then she went downhill from there.
all of that was in a bronco.
seriously tho...a powerful sub is useless without a powerful amp. a good setup would be a JL 1000/1 and a 13W7, also from JL. wont be the loudest in the world, but itll be VERY damn loud. my friend has that setup in his 04 cobra.
also other loud subs for less $ are:
-Kicker L7 15"
-Treo makes a few crazy subs
-Image dynamics IDMAX
and several others.
what have you had so far? its possible that with a more powerful amp your current sub will be louder.
simple formula:
start- start sub, start amp
double sub cone area = double sound (+3dB)
double power = double sound (+3dB)
or increase voltage to UNregulated amp, power goes up.
increase voltage by upgrading the big 3 (search "big 3" on here)
also a larger alternator and better battery will help. (optima battery)

Or, how old you are?? If you're not going to compete, what's the point of having a system where all you hear is bass?? To out-annoy your friends??

i take it you're referring to the solo x? and you're going to try and put that in a grand am??? good luck. the amount of air space those things require are insane, or at least to sound LOUD. i know a girl that has a solo x 18" in a ext. cab truck and the box takes up about 80% of the ext. cab. and power then becomes another issue. she has 2 bd1000s on it and that's only half the power that beast will handle.
i've got a kicker comp vr 18" in my fiance's car (see sig). i forgot how many cu. ft. the box is, but it's not really near big enough for the solo x. and it takes almost the entire trunk. she has about a foot all around on 3 sides.
then another thing is, do you want loud? or something that will rattle your brains out? a12" will actually play louder than an 18", but the 18" will play ALOT lower than the 12". in effect rattling your kidney pretty efficiently.
if you want loud, get a solo x 12 or even the 10. they dont require as much air space or power as the 18. and will actually play the higher end of the spectrum for higher SPL numbers. a 15" is a good compromise. it will play pretty deep and still play high enough to yield some good SPL numbers. a solo baric L7 15" with about 1000 watts RMS in a ported box will get you some respect at stop lights.

i see you're from little rock. head over to audio express in searcy or conway. they can hook ya up with what you're looking for when it comes to kicker stuff. they dont carry JL though. so if you go that route have to go somewhere else. but they're the ones that built my box in my fiances car. i didn't have the time, or really the effort, to make a ported box for an 18" to go in a car that it wouldn't really fit in. so i paid them to do it, well the one in jonesboro, but still the same company.
and it's going to virtually impossible to have the loudest stereo like you're wanting. that's like having a fast car....no matter how fast it is there's always something a little bit quicker. but again, good luck

if you want that then i recommend getting a pair of JL 13w7's and two 1000/1 amps. that should be more then enough power for you. i have to 12w6v2's with a 1000/1 and they hurt.
