tranny swap

has anyone ever put a 5-speed tranny from a 94 and eairlier quad ga into a newer 2.4 5-speed. it had a fdr of 3.94 and is supposed to be alot stronger than the isuzu tranny or the getrag. i am thinking about doin it but i need to know if there is alot of work. i have a 96 gt. if anyone has done it or knows anything, please let me know.

The one is speak of is the Getrag. Found on 2.3 HO engines only. Having one of each, I can say yes the Getrag has a nice gear ratio and feels alot stronger than the Isuzu. Personally I wouldn't put all the effort into it unless you plan on running high amounts of boost or go install a really aggressive cam and need to stay within a small peak powerband.
